DON’T JUST TAKE
OUR
WORD FOR IT
In July 2024 we announced the first ever Altitude retreat. All seats sold out within 24 hours. A few months later we then welcomed the first group of attendees in Mallorca, here’s what just some of them said about their experience:
“This trip was awesome!! Climbing for 3 days with a stellar group of people. The team at Altitude goes above and beyond to make every moment the best it can be. They are organized and they know what climbers want. If your thinking about taking a climbing trip, Altitude is the team you can trust.”
Taylor L. (27, Utah, USA)
“This was the greatest climbing experience I have ever had. I made tons of great friends and everyone was so fun to climb with. The altitude staff was attentive and so nice. They made everyone feel at home and at ease. Chris was such a great coach and inspiration giving tips while DWS and getting beta while I was on the wall was an incredible experience. I would do it again and again.”
Alex T. (23, Massachusetts, USA)
“The retreat was amazing! We had a lot of time with Sharma and Magnus, and climbing side by side with Chris on the Es Pontas arch was a surreal experience! During four days we were exposed to Sharma's climbing philosophy and he did everything possible to ensure we had an amazing time in our first time in dws, I had never tried it and I loved it!
Everything ran smoothly, Altitude's team was great and super helpful.
Great climbing, cool people, good food and a comfortable stay. What else could we wish for?
10/10 would do it again.”
Gustavo R. (36, Brazil)
“If you’re even considering going on a retreat with Altitude, do it. You absolutely will not regret it. The Mallorca retreat with Chris Sharma was truly an unforgettable experience and allowed me to challenge myself in ways I never thought possible. I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
Sahlea T. (29, New Mexico, USA)
“This trip blew my expectations out of the water.
Being able to meet Chris in person and absorb his philosophies on climbing and life first hand was something truly unique. He couldn't have been more personable, walking up to folks and starting conversations as equals, and you could feel how passionate and excited about climbing he is by how excited he is to share it with others.
Magnus was also very friendly and open, treated us like friends, and even hung out later and played games with us. I was also impressed by the Altitude staff being so accommodating and social/personable as well.
They made everyone feel welcome and facilitated the participants making meaningful connections with each other as well as getting to know all of us personally.
They were very flexible in adapting to our preferences and our level of psych/energy as well as weather uncertainties to best ensure everyone could climb as much as they wanted in the styles they wanted (DWS/sport/gym/etc.).
The guides we worked with were fast, efficient, and very friendly as well which allowed us to make the most of the time we had to climb while also learning a lot about the areas through conversations in the cars, etc.
The villa we stayed at was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed (minus the see-through showers by the beds ;)) and the food was incredible! Chefs came in to cook for us, we went out to nice restaurants, and there were plenty of food/snacks for breakfast/lunch as well.
All the participants got along really well regardless of experience/skill level, culture, etc. Overall I was blown away by the experience and feel very blessed to have been a part of this trip. I would definitely recommend!”
DJ N. (33, California, USA)
“I loved being a part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience! It was so much fun trying deep water soloing for the first time with climbers from all around the world who are still united by their shared passion for climbing. I was honestly a bit apprehensive at first because of the cost of the retreat, but it was definitely worth it. I got a glimpse of Chris' and Magnus' philosophy on and their experience with climbing while also surpassing limits that I previously set for myself in climbing (mostly regarding how much I was willing to fight on a climb - which also meant onsighting a higher grade than I previously thought possible for myself). The team of Altitude was also great - they were present and really accomodating during all of the retreat. Thank you again for this opportunity and making it a great experience!”
Marina W. (29, Germany)
“Altitude's first climbing retreat in Mallorca with Sharma and Magnus was incredible.
The whole retreat was like a dream.
I've been climbing for a little more than 10 years, and I can say without a doubt that this has been my favorite climbing experience.
On this trip I discovered my calling for climbing above the water. Sharma had shown me that the freedom of movement above the sea offers an opportunity to be creative and commit to moves in ways that I have not felt in sport or bouldering.
Magnus gave me insight into how to better approach onsight climbing. Trying hard with both of them was a special moment in my climbing journey.
The Altitude staff curated a wonderful event, capturing the feel of Mallorca from the cuisine to the Finca where we all stayed. The pairing with excellent guides allowed us to really explore what the Island has to offer. Meeting the Altitude team and hanging out, climbing together and enjoying dinner was so fun. Staying in a gorgeous Finca with other climbers and getting to share experiences together was amazing. It was awesome meeting other people passionate about climbing and making new friendships. It truly felt like a dream come true.”
Brian L. (38, Texas, USA)
“I had an amazing time at the Mallorca retreat. It was so cool to meet and hang out with awesome climbers. The altitude team was so great, they really helped make the experience one to remember and were there to help with anything anyone needed. (Including getting me some deodorant because I ran out.) I would definitely love to join a future retreat with Altitude.”
Ryan M. (34, Texas, USA)
